Apr 17, 2018Parker, 68, of Plainville, and a longtime resident of North Attleboro, died Friday evening, April 13, at home surrounded by his devoted family. He was the loving husband of Catherine (Lanteigne) Parker for over 46 years.Born Jan. 22, 1950 in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Charlie and Geraldine (Perry) Parker.Charlie was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro before moving to Plainville in 2011. He was a 1968 graduate of North Attleboro High School and worked as an auto body technician at Gaumond’s Auto Body for over 50 years.In his younger years, Charlie was a talented bowler and excellent billiards player. He was an all-star bowler and considered playing professionally before reconsidering to spend time with his family.His adult life was spent devoted to the North Attleboro Junior Football program for which he earned their Courage Award in 2013. He has coached for NAJF since 1985 when his sons played and has remained active ever since. Charlie was a fixture on the sidelines on Saturdays in the fall at Community Field and away games, and was credited with over 300 wins as a coach. In 2015, he was also honored with the “Coach of the Year Award” for outstanding contributions to youth football from the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association.Charlie was also devoted to his children and grandchildren and their activities. He loved watching his granddaughters take the state with the Starline Dancers and sat through hours of competition just to see them compete. He also loved watching his grandsons play football and attended their track and field meets. Charlie cherished time spent with his family.He was also an avid tomato gardener and his annual garden produced seemingly endless tomatoes for his family and friends.In addition to his wife Cathy, he is survived by four children: Charles R. Parker III and wife Amy of North Attleboro; Jeffrey Parker and wife Dolly of Florida; Matthew Parker and wife Jamie of North Attleboro and Jillian Reynolds and husband Gus of North Attleboro; grandchildren, Justin, Haylie, Ava...
